I am certified to teach secondary English and social studies in PA. My bachelors is in Classical Studies, but I took a wide variety of subjects as electives, including philosophy, religion, sociology, psychology, history, literature, and theater. I have acted in 9 plays in high school and college, including playing Petruchio in Taming of the Shrew. This spring I completed my student teaching practicum with a 7th grade language arts class. I taught literature, grammar, PSSA terms, and literary devices. During college, I tutored in the writing center and I also tutored students during my student teaching experience. I have worked with students who have learning disabilities as well as ELL students.
I love to work one on one with a student and help him or her to better understand a topic. I believe that a good tutor is innovative, patient, pleasant, and knowledgeable. I have studied a wide variety of topics as part of my liberal arts education and through independent research. I hope to have the opportunity to share my love of learning and inspire students to be inquisitive problem-solvers!
