I am a 2011 graduate of Shippensburg University with a Bachelors of Scince in Education and a minor in Spanish. I am a Pennsylvania certified elementary teacher who has focused on helping students achieve their greatest potential. While in college, I tutored with two volunteer tutoring programs at James Burd Elementary School and Shippensburg Public Library. Through these programs, I've had the opportunity to tutor students ranging from Kindergarten through eleventh grade in a variety of subject areas including mathematics, reading, and Spanish. While completing my degree at Shippensburg University, I worked with elementary students in numerous local school districts. I completed my student teaching experience in a Kindergarten classroom at Stevens Elementary School in Chambersburg Area School District. At this school, I taught a very diverse group of students. Approximately 96% of the students at Stevens Elementary receive free or reduced lunch, and more than 80% are classified as minorities, many of which are English language learners. This experience taught me how to work with students who are diverse in many ways, including ethnically, academically, and socioeconomically. Through this experience, I learned how to meet the varying needs of different students and how to design effective lessons for students who are diverse in many ways. Currently, I am working with a behavioral agency as a Therapeutic Staff Support and with Chambersburg Area School District as a substitute teacher.
I am extremely excited to begin tutoring your student to help him/her achieve his/her greatest potential! Send me an email and we can begin creating a motivating, successful experience for your student!
