Lori's Answer:

I would factor out y^2.  ---------------> (y-5)y^2=0

Now, I have two possible ways to attain a zero answer ----->  y-5 = 0

                                                                                               y^2 = 0

Solve for y ----------------------------->  y-5 = 0

                                                                y-5+5 = 0 +5

                                                                y-0 = 5

                                                                y = 5

Solve for y ---------------------------->  y^2 = 0

                                                               y = 0

Therefore, the answer is:  The set of 0 and 5 equals y.

Let a balloon in the Space means space having no air or any external force, a balloon is filled with a higher energetic particles of gas, the structure of the balloon  is just like a Earth,particles of the gas in the balloon is applying the force on the wall of the balloon in every direction and with equal magnitude! (there is no any gravitational force)! tell me the status of the balloon means it will move up or down or right or left ?

Lori's Answer:

Your sentence, "Tell me the status of the balloon means it will move up or down or right or left,"  is a bit confusing.

What do you mean by status, direction?    If you mean direction, then, up, down, right, ,or left would be relative. You need to have a point of reference. When the balloon releases the particles, it will use the wall most far from the release station to project, or move, the object. The relative direction could be determined by where that point of release is located, but you may still need to give a point of reference to set up a coordinate system.

what is ions?

what is ions? explain!

Lori's Answer:

Ions have a charge

Example:  NaCl is a molecule that is formed by two entities that have charges, ions!

In this example, Na has a +1 charge (cation) & Cl has a -1 charge (anion).

NaCl is an ionic compound!

All elements listed in the 1st and 2nd column, known as groups 1 & 2, on the periodic table have +1 and +2 charges, respectively.

All element listed in the 6th and 7th column, known as groups 6 & 7, on the periodic table have -2 and -1 charges, respectively.

The relative charges for each ion help attract the number of ions in a particular molecule.

For example:  CaCl2.

The Ca ion has a charge of +2.

It attracts 2 Cl ions because Cl has a charge of -1

Solve for the x value.

Lori's Answer:

Question:  -2(x-7)^2 = 40

Begin isolating the variable.  Divide both sides of the equation by -2 --->  (x-7)^2 = -20

Take the square root of both sides ------------------------------------> sqrt (x-7)^2 = sqrt (-20)

Since 20 is a negative number, the sqrt is an imaginary number --------->  x-7 = +/- sqrt 20i

Reduce 20 -------------------------------------------------------------->  x-7= +/1 sqrt 4*5i

Remove squares and isolate the variable by adding 7 to both sides of equation ---> x = 7+/- 2 sqrt 5i

The problem practices the following skills: Isolate the variable, simplify square root, recognize irrational numbers.
