Hi, my name is Joe. I enjoy working with numbers a lot, and I enjoy interacting with other people. I figured becoming a tutor would be a good way to combine the two, and give students some help along the way.
The main part of my career has been spent as a civil engineer, so I have a strong background in various mathematical fields. But because I was also responsible for dealing with clients and writing reports and proposals, I have very strong language skills, such as spelling and grammar too.
I believe that it is important for a student to learn not only the "what" but also the "how" and the "why." Instead of just trying to achieve results for one assignment or one examination, I feel it is important for the student to understand the process how he or she got to the correct answer. That, in the end, will not only make the subject easier to understand, but it will also increase the level of confidence in the student to undertake further work and lay building blocks for continued success and achievement in the future.
