I've been using MATLAB for close to 15 years, both professionally and as a student myself. The interface has improved quite a bit over the years, but it can still be challenging knowing where to start. I've spent quite a bit of time teaching co-workers how to use MATLAB efficiently, but have only recently begun formally tutoring in this subject. I've used many of the add-on toolboxes from The Mathworks, as well as plenty of external projects from the File Exchange and other tools (e.g. Accelereyes JACKET, for general purpose GPU processing). I have designed many Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs) using MATLAB as well.

I've also had a decent bit of experience with Simulink (again, both as a student and professionally) - most notably implementing part of a NASA satellite communications subsystem.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Electrical Engineering

I have B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Penn State University, and have been working as an engineer for 12 years. I've worked at a few well-known academic research labs (Penn State University Applied Research Laboratory and Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory), as well as supported various U.S. Government customers (including NASA).

My work has primarily been in scientific programming / electro-optics, with a generous amount of field and lab work.

If I don't believe I can solve your problem after an initial email exchange, I will let you know and try to point you to a more appropriate tutor / resource.

General Computer

I have B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Penn State University, and have been setting up / tending to my own computer systems (both at home and work) for the past 15 years or so. I've used Windows-based PCs for the majority of that time, but have been using a MacBook Air / iPad at home for the past few years.

I've set up my own home networks, installed various operating systems and software, set up database servers, used virtual machines, etc.

If I don't believe I can solve your problem after an initial email exchange, I will let you know and try to point you to a more appropriate tutor / resource.

MATLAB

I've been using MATLAB both professionally and as a student for 15 years. I've done work relating to Graphical User Interface (GUI) design, control system, signal / image processing, data analysis / acquisition, video forensics, electro-optic systems modeling and simulation, etc., incorporating many add-on Toolboxes from The Mathworks (e.g. Signal Processing, Image Processing, Optimization, Control Systems). I have also used Simulink quite a bit, as well as the Real-Time Workshop / Embedded Coder.

Hi Mitwa, The reason your program never ends is that the value of "n" in your inner while loop never changes.  Hence, the value of "sn" never changes, so the code gets stuck in the infinite loop. -Corey
