Hello, thanks for reading about me! After living in the California desert for five years, it's great to be back in Pennsylvania. During those five years however, I had a wonderful opportunity to teach 7-8 grade Language Arts both at the intensive and higher levels. While living in CA I obtained my master's degree in Reading/Language Arts graduating Summa Cum Laude and my English as a Second Language K-12 credential. Gaining that education made me understand the intricacies of reading, thereby enabling me to expand my repertoire and help my students comprehension and writing levels rise at a much quicker pace. My teaching credentials include Reading Specialist K-12, English 7-12, and English as a Second Language.
Altogether, I have taught Reading, English and Test Prep. courses in secondary schools for nine years; yet, I've always made time to tutor. At the end of the school day both in CA and here in PA I provided one-on-one English and Math instruction to many home-bound students. I've also worked as an Independent Studies instructor, helping students with all their coursework while preparing them for the SAT's and state standardized tests. While I love teaching, the best part comes from tutoring and seeing automatic understanding from my clients.
I currently teach 10-12th grade remedial Reading and ESL Language Arts, am an adjunct Reading professor at a local community college, and I regularly tutor in reading, writing, test-preparation and all elementary subject areas. I've taught a semester long SAT prep course at a local high school as well. Throughout the years, I've successfully assisted people of all ages strengthen their reading, writing, math and study skills. I'm confident I can help you as well.
I look forward to working with you!
