I have taught drawing and painting at the college level as an adjunct professor at Boise State University for six semesters. I have taught students to explore traditional methods in conduction with conceptual/contemporary methodology, reading/writing discussions. All classes were taught from the basis of advancing the students' understanding and abilities as well as to further prepare them for upper division discourse. Students developed visual analysis skills, problems solving skills and visual deconstruction/reconstruction skills. I have also served as a committee member for an undergraduate professional practices in studio art. I have been involved in several private, personal tutoring sessions which all have lead to the further advancement of the student's abilities and skills be them for commercial use or personal ones. In 2006 I earned a BFA in illustration from Boise State University and went on to receive an MFA from The New York Academy of Art where I studied painting, drawing and écorché. As a youth I spent years reading college level art history books and became very aware of what is known as the canon of art and have since furthered and continue to further my knowledge and awareness of art, art history and contemporary discourse.
I am fluent in Spanish/English and can read and write it very proficiently. I have traveled to Spain and South America and continue to study the differences in Spanish dialects. I teach Spanish from the standpoint of teaching how to read and write it and facilitate discussion in Spanish to evaluate what the student has learned about the reading while simultaneously promoting speaking. I am comfortable teaching beginning and intermediate Spanish most but would love the opportunity to teach higher levels as well.
