Thank you for taking the time to look into my profile.
I have been an educator since summer of 2009 and am currently employed at Mastbaum AVTS in the Kensington area of Philadelphia. My approach in the classroom is unconventional yet effective. I model my classroom reflecting practices popularized by Ron Clark, which makes certain that instruction is not only informative but engaging as well. From 2009-2011 I taught at Grover Washington Junior Middle School, and led my classes to tremendous gains in their mathematical performances on state testing. One crowning achievement was my work with a student, Joe, who came to me operating at a 5th grade math level in fall of 2009. With hard work, a great deal of time and patience Joe left my classroom in may 2011 working at an 11th grade math level. Even more outstanding, is the fact that Joe is a student with an IEP who has been doubted much of his life. I continue to keep in contact with Joe and am happy to say he has been on honor roll since entering high school. I hope to share my expertise with you and your student and push them towards the success they can certainly attain.
Currently I have taught: Middle years math (grades 5-8), Algebra 1 and Geometry
