I am a graduate of December 2012 at Brigham Young University Hawaii with a bachelor of science
in biological sciences pre-professional, minors in biochemistry
. I have experience in tutoring high school and college algebra
I and II. I focus at identifying common errors and mistakes made by the student, point them out and thoroughly explain the right concept and how it comes about. I have a great passion for the combination of numbers and letters and I was a certified math
tutor who focused on algebra
for one year at college. I aim at finding simpler methods of performing calculations that can easily be understood and make sense to others.
I consider biology
concepts to be apart of my lifestyle. I tutored general biology for a semester and often got involved in general biology and chemistry discussions. After studying general chemistry for a year and then organic chemistry
, I was awarded as an out standing student in organic chemistry by the American Chemical Society of Hawaii in the year 2011, given my participation and understanding of the concepts of the subject matter. I base on principles to solve issues at hand, and I am also really good at chemical conversions and calculations as well as the metric system.
Being a pre-professional biology major, I took on courses like microbiology
, elementary and advanced molecular biology, elementary - patho- and principles of physiology
, elementary and advanced anatomy
to mention but a few that enabled me to appreciate concepts of life and its different forms. To make this a reality, I participated in applied microbiology research that involved interactions with fellow students in these disciplines. These forms of interactions enabled me to strengthen further my understanding of biological concepts. I look forward onto helping others understand these concepts and become apart of the natural sciences cycle.
