My name is Kathryn and I recently graduated from York College of Pennsylvania. I majored in Professional Writing and Marketing so I have a strong background and understanding of English, grammar, and reading comprehension. I spent the last two years at York tutoring and editing college students at the Learning Center. I also tutored elementary students in reading and writing at Ferguson Elementary in York, PA through the Knowledge Points program. Working with inner city students exposed me to some of the challenges they faced everyday, which fortunately helped me learn how to inspire and teach them with patience and understanding.
Education has always been an important part of my life. As a college athlete, I learned how to balance two things I valued, sports and education. I was able to relate well to my elementary students because I understood that sitting in school all day then going to tutoring for two hours, after that, can be exhausting. Realizing this, I learned to tutor with enthusiasm and creativity, which made the sessions more productive and beneficial.
Right now I work with a logistics company in Wayne, PA. I loved tutoring in college and I wish to continue tutoring now that I am settled in. I have a lot of different experience with tutoring and a strong grasp of grammar, reading comprehension, and writing and I hope to continue teaching these skills to others.
