Since 2004, I have tutored students in SAT preparation as well as middle school and high school level math and science classes (Pre-Algebra, Algebra I and II, Geometry, Pre-Calculus and Chemistry). Having taken the GMATs three years ago and scoring very well on them, I have begun tutoring in GMAT prep as well.

I have successfully raised students' grades from C's and below to A's and B's and have similarly, raised SAT scores of juniors and seniors by at least one hundred points. As both a Chemical Engineer and having also taken classes in Education and Child Psychology, I have a strong, proven math and science background as well as a love and skill for teaching others. I am friendly, easygoing and flexible to students' needs and am willing to adapt my teaching methods to students of varying abilities and learning styles.

Vocabulary

Vocabulary growth comes from both lots of reading as well as recognizing the roots of certain words to understand what the entire word means. Having taken Latin classes and growing up targeting a reading quota of at least two books a month, I have developed a rather extensive vocabulary and can significantly help students expand their knowledge with skills such as recognizing word roots, memorizing common SAT prep words and encouraging regular reading.

SAT Math

As a senior in high school, I was able to score a perfect 800 in the SAT math section by reviewing the fundamentals of both algebra and geometry as well as learning SAT-specific techniques to help answer questions correctly.
