I am a graduate student at Drexel University studying Biostatistics. In 2012, I completed a BS in Statistics. I know the benefits of tutoring. Often times, tutors, I believe, can relate to students' problems with the material more than teachers or professors. I have also taught English as a second language, which included one-on-one lessons. I look forward to helping people learn and I find teaching and tutoring to be very rewarding.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Algebra 1

I love Math and Statistics. I have a BS in Statistics, which requires me to have a solid foundation in Algebra. I believe students need a strong understanding in Algebra in order to succeed on the SAT, GRE, and may subjects in college. Math can be fun and it is definitely useful. I do a lot of practice problems with students so they are confident in their ability to do well in their course.

Algebra 2

I have tutored students in Algebra II, therefore I am familiar with the topics covered in the class. I create lesson plans that provide an explanation of the topics (like factoring etc.) and practice problems or the student and I work on his/her homework problems together. At the end of the lessons students feel more confident with the feedback received.

ESL/ESOL

I enjoy meeting new people and traveling, so I studied to receive a Teaching English as a Foreign Language certificate (TEFL). I worked as an English teacher for two years in Europe. I taught children, teens, and adults conversational English, grammar, and vocabulary.

GRE

I have taken the latest GRE exam and been admitted into several Graduate programs. As a Statistics major in college, I am familiar with the mathematical subjects. If you need tips in how to handle the math problems, I am sure I can tell you the concepts you need to know to get a high score on the test. Together we can also practice problems.

Probability

Probability is the foundation for many advanced Statistics courses. he trickiest part of this course is understanding the wording of problems. I will help you to understand the principles by working and explaining the problems in simple terms. There are also some ways to solve Probability problems with your calculator, which I would also be happy to teach you.

Statistics

I love Statistics and completed my BS in Statistics from University of South Carolina in 2012. Before completing my degree, I used Statistics on various jobs in research laboratories. I know some people may find it intimidating, but we encounter Statistics everyday and I try to make the subject relatable to the student so he/she can apply it to his/her coursework.
