My name is Hannah, and it would be my pleasure to work with you.
I am a recent graduate of Temple University with a degree in English and a minor in music. While at Temple I studied the English language and the craft of writing extensively. My experience at University has fully enabled me to tutor others. A critical aspect of teaching is the ability to teach the student how to learn. There is a process for everything, if you have questions regarding English, whether it be in regards to writing, research, or reading compression, I believe that I can help you. As a tutor, it is crucial to be able to think of multiple creative and reliable strategies for learning the material. Sometimes a student needs a different perspective, or alternative concrete and logical methods for accomplishing the task at hand; and working in a one to one ratio can be the best place for a student to learn. I urge my students to ask questions and critically interact with the material so that they not only are engaged with the lesson, but are effectively committing this knowledge to memory. In addition to studying English, I have also studied psychology and a variety of music courses including: theory, composition, and history. I invite you to contact me with any questions you have about a subject as I am sure that I will be able to help you.
I have always loved tutoring and I have worked with all ages, please let me know if I can be of assistance to you!
Warmly and Sincerely,
I have taken two composition courses at Boyer School of Music and Dance and am hoping to attain a degree in Jazz composition.
I have three semesters of ear training through the Boyer School of Music and Dance. Student was required to have adequately transcribe rhythms (both swing and straight), as well as direct transcription from records requiring bass line, chord changes, and correct rhythmic value. Student also required adequate recognition of intervals and chord quality, and was required to sight sing the chord changes of music given in class.
I received a degree in English at Temple University. As part of the requirements for me degree, I wrote numerous research oriented articles which were original in thesis and analysis. My courses required me to take part in in-depth analysis of literature, literary criticism, and pertinent articles.
I was an active member of a Tang Soo Do dojang and was trained formerly in this style for four years. I also trained in ground fighting and was a member of Temple's Tae Kwon Do club.
I have taken ten years of classical piano lessons as well as three years of jazz piano lessons with Temple University faculty.
As an English major, I developed the ability to quickly and ably proofread both my own and my classmates' work. I was enrolled in four creative workshops which concentrated on the analysis and improvement of the work in question.
I ran track and field, as well as cross country for six years. This was for the duration of my time in middle and high school. I not only went to districts five out of six of those years, but I also qualified for the state track and field championships for three of those years. While I ran the 400 M, 100 M, 200, and 4x4 relay, my primary events were the 100 and 300 meter hurdles.
