Hi,
Thank you for you interest. So you want to know more about me as a tutor? Well here it goes.
I am a graduate student teacher from England specializing in the teaching of elementary school subjects and the teaching of French for kids. I have many experiences teaching English as a Second Language to adults and children and am currently volunteering at the Nationalities Services Center teaching English to immigrants and refugees.
I have worked a year in Moscow, as a governess (think Maria from the Sound of Music), teaching three boisterous boys aged 3-9. Mrs Bokeova often praised how engaging the boys thought my lessons were and was astonished how much progress I made with all three of them in the 12 months that I was with them. I helped Alex (9 years old) improve his French and written English. Vlad (7 years old) was a little behind on his English spellings and Numeracy skills, but was able to pass his Cambridge English Examinations after 6 months of solid hard work. George (3 years old) was starting to read and write simple words (something he wasn't even doing in his native tongue yet!)
I have taught kids in England, France, and Russia and it all comes down to the same thing: Everyone learns differently and it is up to the teacher to find out how to tailor their lesson to help the child get the most out of it!
I look forward to rolling up my sleeves and helping you learn.
Yvonne
