Hello Everybody!
My name is Krista, and I may be the tutor for you!
I am currently a junior in college at Temple University, Tyler School of Art, in Philadelphia PA. I am obtaining my bachelor of fine arts as a painting major and will be double majoring in photography as of spring 2013. I am working on a psychology minor as well. I also have taken teaching courses and have had to complete observations in various schools. Although I am young, I have had experience with volunteering in a classroom with high school aged students, as well as school aged children, but am able to help all ages willing to learn. I have volunteer tutored for personal acquaintances as well. In high school I was awarded "most artistic" as well as the Rhode Island School of Design Award – given to a graduating senior displaying talent and goals in art. I also designed my senior class T-shirt, as well as the logo for my field hockey team used to embroider on gifts for players. My artwork has been displayed in gallery/art shows in college (Temple University), and most recently I have been face painting at local children's functions in my hometown.
I am currently applying for internships in the arts.
In the future I plan on graduating with my BFA in two majors with a psychology minor and am planning on attending graduate school in film, production, or design.
I am willing to help those who are willing to tap into their creative selves for the first time, or help return back to an old hobby. I hope to improve my student's skills so they can thrive in a subject they love. My students will gain the confidence to continue creating and excel in future projects.
I favor a lot of communication and interaction between me and my students, and will accommodate for any special needs of my students. I am hoping that my bright, young face will bring excitement and passion into the students I am teaching. I am expecting my lessons to be fun-filled as well as hard work.
I hope you consider me as your tutor and hope to hear from you!
