I am a graduate of Temple University. I have a Bachelor's of Science degree in Secondary Ed, English and five years' teaching experience at the high school Level. I previously held PA certification; although it is expired, I still retain my knowledge and experience. When I am able I will be returning to school to pursue my master's degree. I am talented at creative writing, research papers, basic computer use, literature comprehension, proofreading, resume and cover letter writing, and anything else English/Grammar/Creative Writing related. Also, I have some experience working with students with learning disabilities. I am very patient, proactive, and student oriented. I am capable of working with students of most age groups above 5th grade, including college level studies.
In addition to my educational background, I have over 20 years' experience working with children of all age groups from infant to adolescent in the capacity of a personal caregiver, a camp counselor and educator. When working with children I use patience most of all. I also have a repertoire of teaching techniques such as incentives and rewards for positive outcomes and success in learning. I try to be creative, understanding, compassionate and patient with struggling learners. I also participated in a conference on literacy where I learned skills for helping struggling readers at the high school/middle school levels.
