I am a bilingual professional with a passion for languages as well as working with children and adolescents. I am a native English speaker with over 12 years of experience studying and speaking Spanish. I graduated from Saint Joseph's University with a dual Bachelor's in Psychology and Spanish. Then I spent a year doing volunteer work in Peru which included teaching English, adult Spanish literacy, and working in various social service programs. When I returned to the United States, I earned a Master's Certificate in Spanish-English Translation from LaSalle University. I moved back to Peru where I worked as a translator and social worker and earned a second Master's Certificate in Management and Social Policy from a Peruvian university. I currently work as a bilingual child advocate and freelance translator.
I have experience tutoring students in high school level Spanish, and I have taught English at various levels, so I have a very solid command of both languages. I am an energetic teacher with an array of experiences, and I enjoy learning about different cultures and styles of learning. I also have extensive experience working one-on-one with children who have Autism or ADHD, so I am very patient and committed to helping students learn in the way that works for them.
I would love to meet and work with new students and I am open to speaking with anyone who is interested! I work 9-5 every week day except Tuesday, when I work 1-9pm. Please let me know you are looking for, and I hope I can be of assistance. Saludos!
