I am an energetic, passionate, and engaging teacher with 4 years of experience. I have experience working with special education students, students with a variety of learning styles and abilities, and students with language differences. My teaching philosophy is centered on two major ideals: that with support, accommodations, and high expectations each and every student can achieve to the best of his/ her ability, and that learning should always be driven by the learner's interests, needs, and strengths.

I am currently pursuing my graduate degree at the University of Pennsylvania in the Language and Literacy program. This program combines two of my areas of skill and interest- teaching reading, writing and literacy and teaching English as a Second Language.

I have my elementary certification in New Jersey and am pending my PA certification. I have my BS in Elementary Education from the University of Vermont.

Phonics

I have experience teaching phonics both singularly and as part of whole language curriculum. I am currently in a MS program where Literacy is a primary focus on the work that I do.
