I am a caring, compassionate and effective teacher/tutor with more than 10 years experience in classroom and private tutoring, mostly in the following subject areas - Biology, Physical Science, Ecology, Chemistry, Pre- Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry. I have earned a B.S. in Biology as well as a Masters degree in Special Education. My Pennsylvania certification areas are Biology (grades 7-12) and Special Education (grades K-12).
Previous experience as a McGraw-Hill test evaluator for Grade 5 Math, Grade 8 Math, and Grade 8 Reading enables me to prepare students for high-stakes school exams.
I believe that all children can learn when given the appropriate supports and encouragement. My Special Needs students have achieved academic success because my teaching implements best practices and works together with your student’s strengths. My background in Special Education has empowered me with the skill and dedication required to help your child succeed.
The Shel Silverstein poem, "Listen to The Mustn’ts," became my favorite in graduate school and continues to motivate me to be the very best teacher for my students: the teacher who believes that their dreams are never impossible.
