UPenn and Temple Professor with tutoring and teaching experience

I am an anthropologist who currently teaches in the Graduate School of Education at the University of Pennsylvania and in the first-year writing program at Temple University. I have a master’s degree in education from Pace University and a Ph.D. in anthropology from the University of Texas at Austin. While in graduate school in Austin, I tutored UT athletes in English and anthropology. Before moving to Philadelphia, I taught writing at the City University of New York. In addition to my experience teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels, I taught English for five years in New York City public secondary schools. I have worked as a curriculum developer, facilitator supporter, and after-school program facilitator in Austin, Texas. I ensure that my tutoring sessions are rigorous, engaging and fun.
