Hello! My name is Jaclyn. In May 2010, I received my Bachelors of Science degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in English and Special Education from The Pennsylvania State University. As a new teacher, I want to pursue my desire to provide each student with an education that will cater to his or her individual needs.
Currently, I am teaching at the preschool level in Center City Philadelphia. I have been able to create and implement a variety of lessons where the students are engaging in creating models, reading a variety of text, exploring their surroundings, and working with technology. I believe it is important for students to experience cooperative learning. In order to keep the children on task and engaged I believe in positive reinforcement and redirection methods. In addition, commending the students on their work and introducing new ways to explore materials maximizes their learning experience.
Working one on one with students is a great way to help children achieve academic success. In addition, tutoring will allow me to be a motivational support for the students is important to ensure that the student fosters a desire to learn and develops a sense of self-esteem.
