My philosophy is to do lots of listening, especially at first. In listening, I often find that students understand far more than they realize. Often they just need a chance to express what they know. I also think that appreciation and encouragement are important tools for learning. I think we like to do things where we can recognize our natural intelligence and this means paying attention to what we do know as well as going into areas where we are a little unfamiliar.
I love working with people of all ages. There is much to learn and laugh about. I think that math and physics are wonderful ways to explore the world.
Finally a little bit about me. I am forty five years old, I am married and have a seven year old son. I am currently writing my thesis in Physics, having gone back to school at 35 after being a house painter and sometime carpenter. I have tutored at Community College of Philadelphia and at Temple University. and have taught a class for high school students.
