I am passionate about the French language
and want to share what I know. I recently graduated from Penn State University with a minor in French and Francophone studies. There, I took and tutored for classes in basic, intermediate and advanced French, as well as in literature
I have been studying the French language since 8th grade. I have also studied abroad in Montreal, Canada with the Lingua Worldwide program and in Poitiers, France, with distant relatives.
My approach to tutoring is, after assessing a student's level of proficiency, to target the student's interests. If she likes to read, we read books written in dual languages. If he likes to talk about the outdoors, we spend time learning vocabulary
about that subject.
I find tutoring students who are motivated to learn and curious about the subject matter a rewarding activity that enriches my own linguistic experience as well as the student's. I look forward to meeting students and helping them to learn the French language!
In addition to French, I am pleased to offer my students tutoring in additional subject matter that they may have questions with, such as biology

WyzAnt's poll question this week was "What is the most important question for a parent to ask a tutor before hiring"
My answer was that a parent should ask about what strategies the tutor will teach the student so that he or she can become a better independent studier. Why? Study strategies are important. No one wants to spend all day studying, and smart studying lowers
Thanks to a friend of mine for showing me how to edit pictures and create JPEGs in PowerPoint and iPhoto. What a simple way to combine the editing features of these programs! Especially useful for those of us who don't have Photoshop.
1) You take an uploaded picture and insert it into PowerPoint.
2) After adding thought bubbles, shapes, or whatever you can think of, you...
