I was born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia and I moved to the United States 11 years ago to pursue professional opportunities in my prior career, Architecture. After 8 years of professional experience in this field I had the privilege to become a mother, event that had me evaluate my purpose and passions in life. As a result, I decided to take a leap of faith and go for what I love the most: teaching and children.
Ever since, I have pursued a career in education having had the opportunity to teach First grade, Health to middle and Spanish to high school children as well as to adults.
I have recently completed a Masters degree in Elementary School teaching and I am registered at the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) and the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE)
I am knowledgeable in the Responsive Classroom as well as the Love and Logic Classroom management techniques and instructional approaches, which I practiced consistently while teaching in schools.
My personal instructional approach includes multicultural and interdisciplinary lessons as well as the use of technology to enhance students’ engagement and learning.
As I tutor to your child I will create a program that will meet the specific needs of the students based on report cards, assessments and conversation with the school teacher.
I look forward to having the opportunity to contribute to your child and ensure his or her success in school.
Best regards,
Mrs. Claudia
