[Available WEEKENDS only] I graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with my Master's in Chemical Engineering and from Rutgers University with my Bachelor’s also in Chemical Engineering. I currently tutor 7th-12th graders in Math and Science. My strongest subjects are Prealgebra, Algebra I and II, Calculus I-V, and Physics. My tutoring methods involve doing lots of problems for practice, going through them step by step to see exactly where common mistakes may be made. Because math and science build upon themselves, it is essential that students have already mastered the basics. I believe that practicing correctly does make perfect. I am a very patient and fun, as well as effective tutor. I have a strong passion for learning, and my goal as a tutor is to help the student actually want to learn. I understand how frustrating math and science can be because I have been through it. However, sometimes the material just needs to be presented in a way different from how it is learned in class. I sincerely care that students do well in school. As a tutor, I hope to be a positive role model, motivator, and encourager. I truly believe that a student will excel with persistence, determination, and hard work. These are the values that I have as a student, and I hope to pass these values to the students that I work with. Overall, I hope to make tutoring a frustration-free, enjoyable experience, where the student walks away feeling proud that they accomplished something new or overcame an educational obstacle.
