I am a recent graduate of a small prestigious liberal arts school in Maine. While there, I majored in Anthropology and minored in Chemistry. I took AP Chemistry in high school, so I'm very familiar with the set-up of the test. I have also taken classes in biology, math, and physics at the college level.
While at Bowdoin, I was trained and worked as a Writing Assistant. I worked helping students writing and revising papers. As a Writing Assistant, I focused on getting students to improve their writing process - not their papers - to become better writers as a whole. I love to read and write, and would be happy working with students on their reading and writing skills.
I also volunteered with the Bowdoin Book Buddies and the Telling Room, both of which were programs that encouraged creative writing as a way for ELL students to learn English. With both groups, I worked with 5th and 6th graders from countries like Eriteria, Somalia, Mexico, and Japan to improve their grasp on writing and grammar.
I am planning to return to school next fall, continuing on to get my degree to become a nurse practitioner.
