Hi! I'm currently a pharmacy student at Temple University School of Pharmacy. In order to gain entrance to pharmacy school, I had to take a comprehensive standardized test called the PCAT that covered biology, math, chemistry, reading and writing. I passed the test and scored in the 99th percentile.
Before I was a pharmacy student, I was a science teacher at a Florida high school for 3 years. As a teacher, I have provided differentiated instruction to students through individual, small group and whole class instruction. I’ve worked with students of varying ability ranging from gifted to those with learning disabilities or emotional disturbances. To accomplish this, I have used a variety of hands-on activities and different teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles. Also, by dealing with the diverse concerns of students, parents and faculty both in person and through telephone or online communication, I have become more adept at operating with the proper mix of authority, diplomacy, and tact.
Before I became a teacher, I tutored for almost 3 years at the local community college in subjects such as math, science and English. During this time, I gained a better understanding of how students learn and, through various trainings, what the best methods are to increase student learning. In addition to this, over the years, I have had to prepare both myself and others for multiple standardized tests including the SAT’s, ACT’s, GRE’s, FCAT and teaching certification exams. Because of this, I feel comfortable with helping to break down, prepare for and increase scores on standardized tests.
My education includes a B.S. in chemistry with a focus in biochemistry and a master’s degree in science education. I obtained both of these degrees from the University of Florida. Through these studies, I have gained a more in-depth knowledge of many scientific subjects which include biology, chemistry, anatomy, physiology, and genetics. Because my broad-based background has enabled me to be well versed in many concepts, I would welcome the opportunity to work with you. Feel free to contact me if you need assistance.
