I graduated from college several years ago, and have been tutoring regularly ever since. My passion in college was Chemistry, so if you need help with any high school or college level Chem classes, I'm your guy. My strength in particular (and the subject of my thesis) was Organic Chemistry. Along the way I picked up some fluency in introductory Biology, Physics, and Math courses, any of which I would also be happy to teach.
In college I conducted over two years of original research in an Organic Chemistry lab, so I have abundant practical knowledge of laboratory procedures and skills. I also worked as a teaching assistant in an instructional Orgo lab for several years, during which time I graded countless lab reports. I can answer any questions you may have about your lab write-ups, either theoretical or practical.
I'm friendly, easygoing, and good at what I do. I aim to cultivate in my students a deep understanding of the material, rather than encouraging the brute memorization of facts. I try to avoid lecturing, and instead I ask questions that help the student discover the conceptual connections between ideas.
I have a flexible schedule, and will travel to meet you at whatever location is convenient for you. I'm based out of Philadelphia, but I can travel to the outlying suburbs as long as the regional rail can get me there.
Chemistry can seem daunting, but it doesn't have to be! Let me help to demystify this misunderstood and beautiful subject for you.
