Felicidades! My name is Paul. I'm a recent Temple graduate majoring in Spanish who has spent 8 months living and working with family in Argentina. I love tutoring and have tutored both Spanish and ESL (English as a second language.) I place a lot of emphasis on conversational situations and dialogues and am a big fan of role-plays and experiential learning. I also like to get students listening to music sung in Spanish as this increases cultural as well as linguistic literacy. Favorite textbooks of mine include local Hispanic newspapers because they have three advantages; they are free, they are relevant, and they cover a whole range of life material at once (from sports to politics to local news to recipes.) I like to stress the relevancy of learning this vital language in a changing nation as well as remind students that a mastery of this language enables them to communicate with 600 million people from 22 different countries where Spanish is the official tongue. I have a year of Spanish tutoring experience and have started a local Spanish conversation meet-up group at a local coffee shop, as well as having completed the Oxford Seminars Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages 60-hour intensive course. I love to tutor and look forward to speaking with you. Hasta luego!
