¡Hola querido estudiante!
I am here to help you develop your Spanish speaking/writing/reading abilities. As for me, I was born in Tijuana, Mexico. Lived and grew up in that city until I moved to San Diego, CA at the age of 15. I graduated from the University of California Riverside with a major in Spanish in 2009 and also received a TESL/TEFL/TESOL certificate to teach English as a Second Language (ESL) at the University of San Diego in the amazing west coast. I currently teach Spanish in this beautiful city (that I now call home) at Temple University to undergraduate students (SPA 1002, SPA 1003, SPA 1903) as part of the Department of Spanish and Portuguese. My past experience includes extensive private tutoring both in the Greater San Diego and Philadelphia Areas to students of all levels and all backgrounds using College level materials. In addition, as part of a scholarship that I was offered, I am also pursuing a PhD in Latin American Literature and, so far, I am enjoying the classes, the people and the ambiance in the city.
I have had the opportunity to travel abroad, be it for fun or to study, and I can assure that I've had my share of positive experiences. I've traveled to many countries in Western Europe and I've lived in Frankfurt, Germany, Madrid, Spain and Mexico City, Mexico throughout my studies. I believe that I will be a helpful tutor because not only do I love my mother tongue and enjoy teaching it, but I am also researching topics in Linguistics and Literature in my own language to better understand current teaching methodologies for Second Language learners.
