Shimane University (Western Literature)
Born and raised in Japan, I have majored in Western Literature (primarily American and British novels) and I have also studied French and Latin. After I moved to the U.S., I learned Korean and Spanish.
While my passion is to continue learning various languages, I love to share the Japanese culture and language with people from different cultures. I have taught languages for the various group of individuals in private and sometimes I worked for the Japanese language institute as an independent contractor. In addition, I have frequently interpreted for the group of English-speakers, Korean speakers and Japanese speakers over the years. Recently I interpreted for Japanese companies to communicate with Ads Agency, Attorneys, and other professionals in U.S.
I would be happy to teach Japanese to anybody who is willing to learn. I can work with both beginner and advanced level learners. Upon request, you can learn Chinese characters during the lessons. Furthermore, I may be able to help you prepare for JLPT.
In the beginning, we can discuss about your needs and interests so that we can tailor the curriculum together. If you already have any materials, we can use them; or I will suggest the materials we can use during the lesson.
Do you prefer to have a lesson online? No problem. Let's discuss how we can work it out.
If you are interested in learning Japanese from a native Japanese speaker, please feel free to contact me. Arigato. Hello, everyone!

Noritaka Sensei is a great tutor. Always on time for the lesson, and a very patient teacher. He always keep your goals in mind during the lessons. He has no problem going over things more than once until you understand everything fully. He really works at your own pace during the lessons. I have learned so much from him so far in this short amount of time.
We had another great lesson!!! Already experiencing so much progress, in both language and cultural understanding. Looking forward to our next session.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
Noritaka I. passed a background check on 11/23/14. The check was ordered by another user through First Advantage. For more information, please review the background check information page.
After sending a message to Noritaka, you will be able to order a new background check for $7.99. As part of your tutor selection process, we encourage you to run updated background checks. Please also review the safety tips for hiring tutors.
