My name is Mike M.; I am a very experienced writer, editor, adjunct university professor and the father of four and the grandfather of one. I love working with students who might need help with writing, reading improvement, creative expression, and English or history homework and test preparation. Some of my teaching assignments have been at the Academy of Notre Dame de Namur, St. Joseph's University, Penn State University (Abington), Rosemont College and Villanova University.
I hold a Masters degree from Temple University in Journalism and Communications. I also have a background in history. My professional profile includes senior editor of Philadelphia magazine, founding editor of Main Line Today magazine; books written for William Morrow and hundreds of additional columns and feature stories in print and online. I can be easily found on Google.
I was blessed with an outstanding personal education: from the Jesuits and from the IHM nuns. I believe in basic, fundamental written expression. Every essay begins with a solid idea and well-executed sentences. I strive to be patient and focused entirely on the needs of the student and the expectations of his or her parents. I believe in small classes, one-on-one tutoring and life-long learning.
The ability to express yourself clearly and powerfully is the most important tool in learning.
