Biological science, psychology, American history, Spanish tutor

I have a bachelor's degree in neuroscience from Allegheny College; I minored in history. My academic specialty is in the physiological processes of the brain and nervous system, especially in the abnormal biochemistry of neuropsychiatric disorders. I have taken a large amount of psychology classes to fulfill my neuroscience degree. I was a TA for chemistry and statistics in college. I am fluent in Spanish. I am very good with grammar, so much so that I have done closed captioning for YouTube videos.

I am very accepting of people's different learning styles, as I have a unique learning style and struggled to make teachers understand how I learn. I am very good at explaining concepts, and I often use analogies to help people understand difficult concepts/processes in science. All in all, I love learning and helping others to learn.

American History

I took AP American History my junior year of high school. I got a "5" on the AP exam. I was also a history minor in college. My favorite US history topics are:

Biology

I have a bachelor's degree in neuroscience, so the anatomy and physiology of the human body have always been my favorite areas of biology. Grammar

I have always had a love for the English language and it's grammar. I've used my grammar abilities to make closed captions for a friend's YouTube videos, as well as to proofread friends' essays and writing samples. I'm a big stickler for teaching the correct usage of homonyms (e.g., "there," "they're," and "their"; "you're" vs. "your").

Spanish

Me encanta espanol! I started taking Spanish in seventh grade, and I decided to teach myself my junior year when I became thoroughly fed up with my high school's slow pace. I became fluent in six months of self-teaching, as evidenced by my score of a 670 on the SAT II in Spanish that I received the spring of my junior year. I have a bachelor's degree in neuroscience, and my area of specialty is the biochemical bases of neuropsychiatric disorders. My area of specialty is bipolar disorder; psychotic bipolar I mania is my interest within the subject. Anatomy

I have loved anatomy/physiology since I was a preschooler. My favorite area of anatomy/physiology is the brain. I am a neuroscientist and have a bachelor's degree in neuroscience. I also took anatomy/physiology my senior year of high school and received top honors in the class. After the brain, my favorite area of anatomy/physiology is probably the cardiovascular system. I wanted to be a cardiologist from ages 12-17.
