I have been a faculty member of two NJ Schools of Nursing and have been teaching in RN associate/diploma programs for more than 25 years. I teach privately and in small groups. Since the NCLEX exam has become more complex over the years, students often need a personal approach in understanding difficult concepts. I believe that I offer students a more supportive and enjoyable environment to maximize their learning.
I have also assisted students with their college coursework and writing term papers. If you are an ESL student who is challenged by writing papers or have previously failed the NCLEX exam, why not hire a personal tutor who enjoys teaching and seeing you succeed.
I only tutor in my home but if you do not mind driving to my place, then I would be a good resource. I live near Sesame Place and the Oxford Valley Mall. Hope to hear from you!
I have been helping students pass the NCLEX since 1989. It all began when some students requested help from faculty after they had failed their NCLEX exam. After I set up a course of study and found that my students passed, I became more interested in the components for NCLEX success. I found that my approach offered more individualized instruction that the larger review courses could not offer. So I've been embracing that approach ever since and my success rate is close to 100%. No matter how many times you have failed or how mnay review courses you have taken, try a different approach and consider having me as your tutor.
I have a Master's Degree in Nursing and am therefore qualified to teach Nutrition. I have previously taken courses in nutrition especially focusing on how diseases/disorders are affected by nutritional status. I presently teach nursing students and include the importance of various diets & nutrients in my lectures.
Since I have been teaching nursing to RN students for the last 28 years, I am also qualified to teach pharmacology. I have recently lectured on this subject and topics include: pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics (absorption, distribution, metabolism & excretion),forms and types of medications, oral and parenteral methods of delivering medication, common routes of meds (oral, intramuscular, intravenous, intradermal, topical, etc.), drug calculations, and medication safety including legal aspects related to drug delivery.
Since I have been actively lecturing in nursing since 1984, I feel I am more than qualified to teach public speaking. I have taken a college course in effective speaking and received an "A" grade. I have also given lectures and spoken publicly at graduation ceremonies and in small groups.
Since I have been teaching nursing to RN students for the last 28 years, I believe I am qualified to teach for the TEAS exam which is a Test of Essential Academic Skills. This exam along with a few others (NLN, HESI, HOBET) are given as pre-entrance exams to evaluate a student's overall academic performance. Various tests are given which include: reading, math, science, and english & language usage. On the TEAS exam there is a total of 150 questions and the student's performance is measured via an adjusted individual total score, overall academic preparedness, mean rank, and percentile rank.
I have been playing tennis for more than 40 years and am a lifetime member of USTA (United States Tennis Association). I have played in leagues, tournaments and events for many years and have taught the game to both friends and tennis enthusiasts. I am currently rated as a 4.0 player.
