Good day! I am taking the liberty to present myself to you as to how I became interested in becoming a Teacher, and developed a life-long love of learning!
I attended the School of Education @ St. John's University in Jamaica, N.Y., where I majored in French and my Minor was Education. I completed my student teaching @ Albert Leonard Middle School, in New Rochelle, N.Y.
After College, I stayed home for a number of years raising my family. An opportunity presented itself to work in a bank, which I choose, as I would have no lesson plans or papers to correct and could devote that time to my own children's studies.
The bank agreed to send me to Graduate school, provided the subject matter was business related. I always liked Psychology and how people are motivated to behave a certain way, and one of the areas of concentration was Organizational Behavior. I attended IONA College, in New Rochelle, N.Y. and received my M.B.A. in 1994.
I have taught as an Adjunct Professor @ several local colleges in Westchester, N.Y., N.J. and more recently, in Shohola, PA. I also returned to teaching French @ the Berlitz Language School, in Ridgewood, N.J.
I am certified to teach French at any of the Berlitz locations, as I have passed their Certification process.
Apart from being comfortable in the classroom, I am a Corporate Trainer, who possesses CompTIA CTTT+ Certification as a certified Technical Trainer, as well as DDI Facilitator Certification for Soft Skills and Management Training.
I hope that this will serve as an Introduction as to why I like to teach and interact with students of all ages, as well as clients that attend my training classes. I am interested in your success. Thank you for your time.
