Here is your chance to learn music with a nationally renowned master educator in a fun, congenial environment in the Philadelphia/Mainline area. I teach musicianship and theory to advanced music students and hobbyists of all ages playing all instruments. Pre-professionals are welcome, too. Currently I teach at Temple University, and I conduct the Philadelphia Classical Symphony, an award-winning professional chamber orchestra. I am a Commonwealth Speaker for the Pennsylvania Humanities Council and am one of only two PA speakers on the roster for the National Endowment for the Humanities. I have taught over 300 topics on diverse classical and popular music topics. My first television presentation was broadcast this year.
Bring out your inner Mozart. Enhance your musical skills as a listener, as a performer, and as a singer. Have fun and realize your fullest expression of great music. All musicians benefit from a broader understanding of music, history and style. Classes and individual instruction are available.
Here is a recent tribute from Barbara, a music appreciation student in 2012:
"It is truly a rare occurrence to have a professor that demonstrates such passion, dedication, and extensive first-hand knowledge of their subject. Your introduction of the immense skill and profound meaning behind classical works was inspiring and humbling to say the least. Through your lessons, listening exercises, and encouragement you helped me reconnect with my own love for classical music. You instilled a deep appreciation that I will never forget."
Another student wrote, “My brother begged me to move Miami, but I refused when he did not offer to bring Maestro Karl down for his enthralling music classes."
Make music a source of inspiration in your life, find out how far you can go, and have fun too!
