I am a college graduate with my BA in English and a concentration in film studies. Throughout high school and college I proofread academic papers and creative writing pieces; picking out grammatical and spelling errors, organizing content and utilizing effective vocabulary words are skills that come naturally to me. Reading and writing are my passions and I enjoy inspiring others to discover what they can learn about the world and themselves through literature and writing. I am an avid learner with an insatiable appetite for knowledge; if there is a subject I am not as proficient in, I can effectively and efficiently familiarize myself with it further to provide the best possible help and instruction.

I have assisted my four younger brothers with homework and studying throughout the years. Through my experience with them, I've helped with test preparation (specifically vocabulary, science, history and the writing portion of the SAT) organization, and close reading skills such as picking out significant quotes, defining themes and identifying literary devices. I advocate focusing on one thing at a time before moving on, making index/flash cards for important concepts, creating acronyms to remember specific facts and using the act of rewriting to aid in memorization. I firmly believe education is an interactive process and knowledge will be retained longer when the process is engaging, creative, and fun!
