I am a certified K-12 teacher and have over seventeen years of experience in education. I taught high school French and English as a Second Language high school classes for seven years in Delaware and Texas. I also have many years of experience teaching and tutoring college age students. I am also certified in Special Education.
Languages have always been my specialty. I have a Master's of Education degree in French supplemented with additional ESL certification courses. From my graduate studies, I gained a better understanding and appreciation of the language student. I also gained further insight about specific skills, reading strategies and learning styles pertaining to second language acquisition.
I have a great deal of tutoring experience with age groups varying from young elementary students to college age students. This summer I tutored two elementary students and together we made considerable gains in their reading levels. I have tutored several different subjects including Language Arts, French, Reading, Writing and specialty ESL courses and have tutored for a community college, universities, and a school district as well as for private tutoring organizations.
