Education and tutoring have become important in my life. As a recent graduate with a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences, I realize how much hard work pays off. My experience tutoring and teaching in college has been incredibly rewarding. I have watched my students excel and even enjoy subjects they had no interest in. I have even helped my students conquer fears, such as speaking in public. While I specialize in tutoring Biology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology and Genetics, I am highly qualified to tutor in some social sciences including Anthropolgy and Archaeology (I hold a BA in Anthropology).
My tutoring methods revolve around how my students learn. We all have different methods to retain the information we are taught. Unfortunately, teachers do not have the opportunity to cater to everyone's needs. Once I determine a teaching style for my students, I try and incorporate as many real life examples as possible to help my students understand concepts more clearly.
I hold myself to a high standard. I will ask for feedback from the students and parents. I find this helps to cater a lesson specifically to the needs of the student. Also, I will not charge for a lesson in which the student or parent is not 100% satisfied.
I look forward to hearing from you and helping you achieve success in your studies.
I have an undergraduate degree in Anthropology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP). I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. While at IUP I arranged an independent study abroad to Flinders University in Adelaide Australia where I participated in 5 archaeological digs and took a number of courses that broadened my knowledge of Indigenous Australians.
I have an undergraduate degree in anthropology specializing in archaeology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP). I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. While at IUP I arranged an independent study abroad to Flinders University in Adelaide Australia where I participated in five archaeological digs including a dig at a minors dug-out, an old jam factory, a pauper cemetery and paleontology dig of Australian dinosaurs.
My PhD in Biomedical Sciences required numerous biochemistry classes. In addition for the past 5 years I have been performing lab work that has been very strong in biochemical techniques. This allows me to incorporate real world experience into my lessons.
My experience in Biology began as an undergraduate where I minored in Biology at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. I continued my education in the sciences at Rutgers, majoring in Genetics. I continued expanding my knowledge of the sciences with a Ph.D. in biomedical science specializing in Cell and Developmental Biology.
I have an undergraduate degree in Genetics from Rutgers University, The State University of New Jersey. While in graduate school at Rutgers University, I was a teachers assistant for genetics. During this time I taught supplementary classes in genetics and also tutored students that needed extra help.
