Hello future students and parents! This year is my eighth year teaching and I am so grateful to have chosen the most amazing career! I am currently a special education inclusion teacher and enjoy working with all populations of students. My background has enabled me to work both as a regular and special educator in almost every elementary grade level, and I am certified in teaching both Special and Elementary Education in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. In addition to my teaching experience, I have also tutored older students in middle school and high school as well with special needs or in study skills. Additionally, I also have my Level I Wilson Reading Certification and would love to put this certification to good use. Please contact me if you are in need of a tutor, I would love to help your child succeed academically and grow to love learning!

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Dyslexia

I feel I am qualified to tutor a child with dyslexia based on my educational background. I have a Bachelor's degree in elementary education and a Master's degree in special education. My teaching experience includes three years as a regular education teacher and five years as a special education teacher. I have taught numerous students with dyslexia and I also have a specialized reading certification in the Wilson Reading program geared towards students with dyslexia and significant reading disabilities. In order to earn my certification in the Wilson Reading program I had to complete 80 hours of practicum instruction with a student that had dyslexia which I completed successfully.

Elementary (K-6th)

I have a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a Master's degree in Special Education. I have been an educator in the elementary grade levels for eight years as both a regular education teacher and special education teacher. Certifications can be provided.

Phonics

I have a Wilson Reading Certification which is a specialized reading program with one of the focuses on the area phonics for students with significant reading issues. I completed 80+ practicum hours using the Wilson system and also taught Fundations, a Wilson program for all students in grade K through 2.

Special Needs

I have my Master's Degree in Special Education from Saint Joseph's University and have been a special education teacher for 5 years. I am also a certified Level I Wilson Reading Tutor.
