My name is Anna and I may be the perfect tutor for you!

I am a PA state certified teacher. I attended Cairn University (formerly Philadelphia Biblical University) where I received a Masters degree in Elementary Education and a Bachelors degree in Bible. I also received a certification in TESOL. Currently, I am in my third year as Kindergarten teacher at a private school in Philadelphia. I have been employed at Huntington Learning Center and I developed and ran a free after school care tutoring program for underprivileged children in Bucks County, PA.

I favor an interactive approach to education that involves plenty of teacher/student interaction with the material. Because everyone learns differently, I will find the best method to use when working with you.

Reading

I teach a Reading curriculum that teaches students how to think critically about the information they are reading. This curriculum involves learning carefully selected vocabulary words from the book being read, using visual tools to examine the information in the book, and being graded according to a detailed curriculum which places students on a level of: not-yet, meeting the objective, proficient, or exemplary.

Elementary Math

I am a kindergarten teacher and I teach math everyday. I use various manipulatives that enhance the curriculum. I teach math from a "hands on" approach.

Elementary (K-6th)

I am PA State certified from Kindergarten through sixth grade. I have a Master's degree in Elementary Education. I have been teaching Kindergarten for three years at a private school in Philadelphia. I am very experienced in this subject area.

Phonics

I teach Phonics everyday to my Kindergarten students. I am extremely experienced in this area. I teach coding, blending, and other Phonics skills using multiple resources such as letter tiles, word cards, worksheets, and books.

How do I receive a discount?

Save between 5 and 15% on tutoring by purchasing credit with one of our prepaid discount packages. You can buy one of our standard 5, 10 or 15% packages or customize your own package based on how much tutoring you need. The credit you purchase can be used towards any tutor at any time and does not expire. If you do not use the entire package, we will simply deduct what you did spend on tutoring from your original purchase price and give you a refund. Discount packages start as low as $190.
