Hi Everybody,

My name is Mary, and I am the right tutor for you!

I have been teaching for seven years now. I earned my undergraduate degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Bloomsburg State College. I earned my Business Education teacher certification from Delaware Valley College. I recently graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Master's degree of Education in Curriculum and Instruction and I have been working for four years as a teacher of Business Education in the Reading School District. Along with teaching I have also done some homebound instruction for the Reading School District. As part of my work, I tutor students in all subjects that students may be enrolled in such as; Math (pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, and general Math), Language Arts (including English, reading, vocabulary and writing), Microsoft Office 2007 application software, and some test prep (GED,SAT).

Besides tutoring, I have experience with students of all ages, including extensive experience with individuals who have special needs. In general, I favor a "hands-on" approach to teaching that involves a lot of interaction between the tutor and student, and concrete experiences in addition to worksheets. However, my specific methods vary according to the subject being taught and the learning style of the student.

Algebra 1

Algebra 1

The main goal of this course is to provide students with a thorough and extensive study of linear and quadratic functions and graphing on the x,y-coordinate system. By the end of this course, students will have all the knowledge necessary to solve and graph equations and inequalities. They will also be able to apply this knowledge to other areas of math, such as word problems, ratios and proportions.

Algebra II:

Algebra 2 is a course designed to build on algebraic and geometric concepts.
