I have graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. My major was Elementary Ed. with a concentration in Early Childhood Education. Recently, I have taught Kindergarten for 3 years. I have worked as a reading assistant at an elementary school in Bensalem. Also, I have worked in several day care centers as a lead teacher. From all of this experience, I have found that reading/phonics plays an important role in learning. I love working with children, love to see their excitement in learning and like children to have fun while learning. I will help your child who is struggling or will help your child to challenge themselves.
The past 3 years I have taught Kindergarten children. This year, I am teaching 3 year olds. I really enjoy having children succeed in learning. It is so exciting when children learn to read! It is as exciting when a child has failed at a math problem and finally gets how to do it correctly. This is why I tutor to bring confidence, patience and joy of learning into the process.
I can also tutor other subjects in elementary: math, science and social studies. On a personal note, I enjoy teaching VBS at Bensalem United Methodist Church for the last 3 or 4 years. I also attend Bensalem United Methodist Church. I enjoy singing in choir, gardening, reading and walking.
I started with WyzAnt the summer of 2011. I have mostly worked with children who need help with writing, phonics, spelling, reading, multiplication facts, addition and subtraction with renaming. With younger children, I do everything and more to get your child ready for Preschool, Kindergarten or First grade. Skills that younger children learn are counting and recognizing numbers, learning letters and sounds, sight words, recognizing shapes, time, learning the correct form of writing letters and numbers. This has been really rewarding for me and I help build confidence in those I work with! I love tutoring!
