Hello future students and parents!
My name is Courtney. I graduated from Millersville University in 2011. I majored in Elementary Education with a minor in Psychology. I absolutely love teaching, working with students and continuing my life long journey of learning.
The areas I can most help your child excel in are as follows; elementary students kindergarten through 6th grade in all subject areas, social studies- American history, world history, and psychology, I can also help girls that are interested in Softball.
I have had different placements throughout college that have allowed me to practice and gain experience with my teaching skills. All experience was kindergarten through 6th grade in all subject areas. I am also getting ready to complete my first year of substitute teaching throughout Lancaster County. I substituted in all different grades. At the moment, I am studying to become a highly qualified teacher in Social Studies. The studying has extensively broadened my knowledge of American history and world history. When it comes to softball, I played 17 years of it at both the high school and division two college level. Throughout those years, I pitched and now help coach a high school JV softball team.
My teaching/tutoring methods are to make lessons as hands on and creative as possible. I will create lessons that will help your student excel in whatever subject they are struggling in. I want to create an environment where the student isn't afraid to ask questions or take risks. I also want to include the parents every step of the way. If the tutor, student, and parent are all on the same page we can only continue to push the bar of achievement higher and higher.
I hope you see me as a good fit to help your student.
