Teacher of English to Speakers of other languages/Nursing tutor

I am TEFL and TESOL certified with a background in Nursing and would like to help you learn English in a stress-free environment. We all learn better when we are motivated and when it's interesting and fun. I am trained and certified to teach English to speakers of other languages, for the classroom environment as well as individual tutoring. The advantage of tutoring is to be able to tailor the sessions to each individual's needs and best learning methods. I am especially able to tutor those who are working in a healthcare setting, or are students in healthcare, but certainly do not limit myself to these students. I am open to students of any age.

Reading

I've also been a slow reader. But that has usually been an asset with reading comprehension. If I have to read over something several times to get its meaning, so be it. Spanish

I was fortunate to have an excellent Spanish instructor in high school, who drilled us and drilled us in Spanish grammar, introducing new vocabulary at every turn, and making sure we could converse, using appropriate verb tenses, etc., so that we could speak nearly like a native speaker. Writing

Grammar, reading, spelling and vocabulary all play a role in writing well. I incorporate these elements as well as my own learning of how to write in an interesting manner, trying to minimize passive voice whenever possible, and being able to convey the intended message. Proofreading

I would call myself a "natural" proofreader, as errors in spelling or grammar tend to jump out at me when I'm reading. I am not a "speed reader", but I've found that this is probably the reason I am also able to pick out details that others might not see. Give me a try in whatever capacity you see fit. Spelling
