Hello! My name is Kiera. I am a recent college graduate that is a certified Elementary Education teacher in both Massachusetts and Pennsylvania. I have extensive experience with a diverse group of children, especially those with special needs. I am also well-rounded, having extra knowledge beyond the scope of just elementary education.
I have a passion for teaching children. I don't believe a child should just memorize to get by; a child should truly learn the lessons handed to them. If a child can memorize 4 x 4, then they are limited in knowing only that. If a child knows what 4 x 4 means, they can problem solve to figure out other math problems as well.
I also like to teach with a sense of humor, and feel that the best time to teach a child is when they are comfortable and happy. A child that is learning with a smile on their face will be more likely to seek further learning opportunities themselves.
