I've been tutoring private Latin and Greek students at all ages and all abilities for over fifteen years now. I am well acquainted with almost all of the Latin textbooks currently in use as well as several of the Greek textbooks. Having tutored students from many different schools I understand how to adjust each student's tutorial program to best fit the teaching style of his or her school's Latin teacher.
Although I have taught Latin in middle schools as well as in high schools and colleges I prefer teaching one-on-one in a tutorial setting. Helping a student overcome difficulties excites me. Adjusting my teaching style to fit the individual need of each student is a challenge that I love. My private tutorial students are the students I get to know the best and feel that I am able to help the most.
I look forward to connecting with you and sharing my enthusiasm for ancient languages with you! Latin and Greek CAN be fun! Helping students learn that they can enjoy studying these ancient languages as well as showing them that they can succeed in their studies, are my primary goals as a private tutor.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have two MA's in Classics, both of which included masters level work in ancient Greek (one from Villanova University and one from Rutger's). I have tutored several Greek students, one of whom went on to become a Classics major at Princeton University with a focus in ancient Greek. I currently read ancient Greek texts daily and translate Greek with a colleague once a week for fun.
I have taught Latin both in the classroom (all levels from elementary school students through college courses) and privately for over 20 years.
I have a BA in Classics (Latin and Greek) from Villanova University. I also have two MA's, both in Classics...one from Villanova and the second from Rutger's University.
