Hi!
My name is Lucian; I'm a recent graduate of Haverford College, where I majored in math, and a survivor of many standardized tests including the ACT/SAT, GRE, Praxis II, and others.
I have worked as a peer tutor for three years in all areas of mathematics and have student taught at Bodine High School in Philadelphia. I take a very individualized approach to tutoring: I believe that mastery comes when a student can understand the material in her/his own terms. To this effect, I try to make the subject material engaging and isolate the areas where the student has the most difficulty and work on those areas. I am knowledgeable about math from algebra to analytic number theory, including all high school math and test prep material.
A word about my test prep qualifications: I have taken many standardized tests and have tutored in these areas before. I am excellent in such areas such as test time-management and answering questions correctly.

ACT-35 composite, 35 English, 35 math, 34 reading, 36 science (out of 36 each)
GRE- 169 math, 162 verbal, 4.5 writing (out of 170, 170, 6)
GRE math- 780 (79th percentile)
Praxis- 185 Reading, 189 Math (out of 190)
Praxis II 0061/0063- 200 out of 200; ETS recognition of excellence. These tests measure competency in math and ability to teach it.
