Writing conventions such as spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and grammar help essays clear and understandable. Graphic organizers can help students put their writing ideas in order. Graphic organizers include the use of charts, diagrams, and maps that offer ways to brainstorm for details about a topic and then arrange those details in logical order. Going through the full writing process—pre-writing, drafting, revising, rewriting and publishing—can be a lot of work, but it’s always worth the effort. Each stage of the writing process builds on the last, and each subsequent stage would be much harder if the previous one hadn’t been completed. Reading the essay in its final, polished form, it becomes clear the complete writing process produces the best essay.
