As a Chemistry and Physics Instructor at local community colleges over the past several years, I have discovered that many students struggle with science classes like chemistry and physics because they lack the necessary math skills. If they improve their math skills, the study of science becomes a more enjoyable experience. If you need to improve your math skills for a math class or a science class, I can help you.
I have also found that students who can see the connections between scientific concepts and the real life, are more interested in the science topics and perform better overall in science class. I draw on my experience in industry to make the concepts covered in science class more relevant to the everyday world (the real world). If you are struggling with your chemistry or physics course because there seems to be no connection to the real world, I can help you.
I hold a Masters degree in Chemical Physics from the University of Pittsburgh and Bachelors degree in Chemistry with a concentration in Mathematics from Saint Vincent College. As a Hydrologist for the US Geological Survey for six years, I studied the impact of various land use on the quality of groundwater. As a Manager of Environmental Compliance for a Private Company for about seven years, my main focus was operational oversight of the PA DEP permitted Industrial Waste Processing Facility to ensure environmental/safety compliance. I also developed treatment plans for industrial wastewater. In my role, I also served as the liaison with the public and regulatory agencies.
